Lucki was signed to Empire..got fat..became a meme at the perfect possible time..got discovered by the undergound TikTok audience..and eventually got championed as an Underground king by the same audience

None of this was planted by the label, Im sure they gave him some nice money though..marketing was cool too ngl..not tryna slander Empire with this, I just dont agree

EMPIRE is basically a place where artists come and signe on an album by album basis for marketing and promotion budgets

They’re a “fast label” for indie artists to approach and acquire marketing/promotion/production resources without the commitments of large labels

It’s why their releases are mostly fiercely indie artists like Larry June, Key Glock, Babyfave Ray, Lucki, etc

We can argue about the numbers someone puts on the charts and if that really matters, but EMPIRE is where an indie artist goes to get bang for their buck and take a lot of money home even if they aren’t playing massive crowds

How old are you? At the beginning of Freewave series Lucki was still dragging his feet behind Fauni, and Uno..even Madeintyo and Divine Council were more succesful at ths fime..Lucki went through a redemption arc in front of everyone and lapped people when they started joggin closer towards the end of the FW series.

All of the artist I mentioned were operating in the same space at the same time..you said Lucki has been Underground king since the FW series which starts in 2015..My point is he COULDNT have been when all of those artist were praised way more and had more motion and fans at that time. He became underground king when all of them fell of and he stayed on and he happened to get fat at the same time.

(Also, discrediting Madeintyo 2015-2017 run is a choice, but Uber Everywhere and I Like were legitimate hits)

Freewave series 2015-2019

Lucki been underground since 2013 and reemerged in 2015, still underground and has been steadily accumulating more and more loyal fans as the years went by
