Got called a self hating coon I mean damn
I’m not hating but are these dudes model tier?
They are legit all model material, chiseled jaw line and the model body type.
They definitely go for a certain look when it comes to black models, both male and female.
But models usually aren’t conventionally pretty, at least not to me.
For white girls they always get them women with bushy eyebrows, buck teeth n a gap, and some freckles.
For black folks, usually darkskin, looks like they’re starving for food, fleshed out face. High check bones, and bald.

I value your opinion but I feel the bars been lowered but with that said it’s about the clothes not the model. And it’s been drummed into me how fashion houses recruit.
It’s got nothing to do with beauty standards and I get it now
👍🏾
Models aren't supposed to be universally attractive. They're supposed to model clothing and fit the aesthetic that the designer is going with. You literally look at any models these days, they aren't usually conventionally attractive. Most of them have a unique look to them, not just black models. Like this is a model for balenciaga
Look like if you sneeze on this guy he might die

This is what I’ve been trying to say and when I see that s*** on a runway it feels like a slap in the face

It aligns with white peoples views of black people in Africa. All them “for 5¢ a day feed a child in Uganda” vibes. They also keep low cut/bald heads because an overwhelming majority of these fashion houses do not hire MUA that know how to take care of, and style black peoples hair.

Preach
Just because you don’t wanna f*** them doesn’t make them any less attractive.

he look like he snuck onto earth
I will say that the people you posted certainly deserve to be models
And sports figures tend to be too bulky to model for high fashion, including ppl like messi or posh spices husband
But i do think theres still an issue irt how many people get casted and how theyre treated
See stylecaster.com/victorias-secret-model-jourdana-phillips-natural-hair
Where homegirl essentially had to buzz her hair for the job
And overall i know the idea that dark skin black women having to go buzzed is certainly something that ive heard before: apresjosephine.com/news/fashionindustrybald
elle.com/fashion/a43095/8-models-speak-on-discrimination (See mominatu’s interview)
And just looking at this show: all the black women either have either short hair or cornrows lol
wmagazine.com/fashion/saint-laurent-spring-2023-paris-fashion-week-review/amp
And most of the black models are fairly dark skinned
Similar hair styling for the givenchy ss23 show it seems but havent gone thru entirely
Though i will say the white people and east asians in these two shows (i dont think theres any other demographic in either lolol) all have super slicked hair and no other hairstyle really
Hair and model diversity in the versace ss23 seems better though versace.com/us/en-us/world-of-versace/stories/fashion-shows/ss-2023-women.html
Ill also note that i think casting directors are generally white lol same w high fashion brands
