Why does it matter? Back then everyone was a industry plant and no one cared. Nowadays we have lizzo. Back then we had michael Jackson.
industry plants dont matter in pop, hip hop is built on authenticity, so obviously someone faking their style/come up is looked down on

A lot of big artists in modern hip hop are industry plants. (Not really a bad thing) Kanye, Drake, Travis for example. Authenticity never really mattered to the fanbase
I see clips from Bobbi althoff podcast on my YouTube and people call her industry plant. OK? Should I care
There’s a joke in there somewhere but imma take the high road
Scared of the woke mob

Her podcast is not good tho. The Amelie chicken shop girl does the awkward humour thing way better. Without her big industry guests her podcast would fall flat cause her personality is not that interesting. Ppl call it out because she is an industry plant and not that likeable it’s normal. That’s the same thing with music if your music trash + an industry plant.
