Yeah but TLOP was awesome when it dropped. A little bloated and ridiculous at times, but still a great record. Patches weren't totally necessary imo, except for the addition of Saint Pablo obv.
From the second the ye listening party ended, it was clear how unfinished and sloppy sounding it was. It was shocking and disappointing for a Kanye release. And then with KSG coming out the next week, it really emphasized how weak ye was.
sure tlop was alright but anybody who thinks it was on par with the rest of his stuff at that point is delusional
also 0 followers not listening
yeah dude, ye was the start. not the album he did in 2016 that was literally unfinished upon arrival
even though he kept tinkering with tlop the songs still felt complete and followed a more traditional structure
Because people are f***ing dumb. Ye was a great album with great production, great writing, thoughtful songs. DONDA appears to be schizo mind puking at its best. Pablo had traces of that, but it still culminated in actual good songs
ye was trash, so was KSG.
ye was trash, so was KSG.
Today I thought about killing you
premeditated murder
Went back and listened to Ye because of all the slander on it the past 12 hours
This my ranking
I thought about Killing you - 9/10
Yikes - 9/10
All Mine - 8/10
Wouldn't Leave - 4/10
No Mistakes - 9/10
Ghost Town - 10/10
Violent Nights - 7/10
I didn’t watch the listening party for the music. Of course everything sounded unfinished, because it all is unfinished. It was just like mostly for the vibes and the moments (Hov reunion)
it's mid by most standards, terrible by kanye standards.
4/7 songs are good/listenable = 57%. definition of mediocre
and then especially when compared to his first 6 albums, makes it look even worse
