It's like saying fast food is better than good quality cultural cuisine from the deep heartland of a country. It's completely a joke and is what Versus is based on, another horrible idea.
Casual music fans are the absolute worst
It’s always been a thing but I feel like in the early 2000s was where we saw an increase in rappers bragging about their numbers in order to put down another rapper they were beefing with, and that way of thinking just never went away.
I just think good music is good music, but a lot of people need their favorite artists to get hits or win awards for them to be solidified for some reason. You see it on this very site lol

honeythecati mean obviously is a song is really popular, it doesn’t mean it’s good all the time
well then people should understand that you can’t use commercial figures to justify quality, only popularity
at the absolute maximum you can argue that the song must have reached a minimum threshold of quality for people to want to listen to it again but that’s really it
