This is prominent especially with these black socialists or even black communist groups.

They claim that capitalism is a big reason racism exist (perhaps this is true)

But these non capitalist societies that’s been through history have been just as if not more racist than these capitalist countries (China, Russia, etc)

Why do people think that racism is a political issue at nature? People use politics to force it but it’s not political in nature.

Let’s discuss. I’m here to learn

There happened something in the past that made one group not have any wealth. And in capitalism wealth creates wealth. (hint: it starts with s)

You could dismantle white supremacy as a systemic issue certainly, under a socialist system. Interpersonal is different

I think the argument is that the current system was built on white male supremacy and without a ground up rebuild it will forever have those systems in place

Racism as an interpersonal thing is different
It’s already significantly better but it takes generations of education and parents teaching kids to be anti racist before we have a non racist society in that sense

Capitalism keeps the companies founded on racism, segregation and slavery in power.

Capitalism keeps many minority and poor communities stuck in place whilst growing white and rich communities.

Capitalism keeps the white elitist power structure together.

Capitalism keeps the system we have in place by keeping the same few rich families in power.

Tearing down the walls capitalism builds between us would lead to true equality

It doesn’t matter how many BLM twitter posts Walmart and Amazon make Jeff Bezos and the Waltons will still get paid more in a few days than 99% of us will see in a lifetime.

It doesn’t matter how many Democrats pretend to be down with the movement if they’re making sure to keep their wealthy donor friends happy behind closed doors.

My thesis on this is tht In the US you have three forms of racism/oppression

    Economic, Institutional and Individualistic.

On certain metrics the US is better than europe or western countries. (Individualistic front is generally better than europe for example) but in the economic and certain institutional fronts is just abysmal. The corporate, media and academic world seem to put a premium on black faces so i guess Thats progress i guess but other institutions like the incarceral and criminal justice system...well.

Black progressives and socialists believe policies can change the first two and I tend to agree. The first two is also tend to have the most lethal effects on black people. Now more black centrist types will say well white supremacist culture etc etc, and yes that’s true but that cant be policy’d out. We see proof that younger generations are only getting more tolerant and cognizant and we can only continue elevating our education and discuss to a level to get rid of that. It might sound weird saying it but on that last part the US does a better job than all other western countries despite what you might think. Race discussion in most other countries are virtually extinct

    Powerful

  • people will always try to find any way they can to push their agendas and get what they want

if the hot topic is racism and inequality then people are gonna find a way to twist the discussion into something that benefits them

Personally I feel that we need to improve our economic standing and thrive rather than support other political ideologies like socialism. But I'm learning more about it in some ways it can help but its debatable

Because they understand the material conditions through which racism manifests.

I agree fully, this is why even tho America racism has more bite than Europe man countries, we tend to have more opportunities. It’s always strange think about it
