I ask this cause I just remembered this nigga Young Thug said he was paralyzed in 2020 from kidney and liver failure. Uzi just had stomach issues and admitted to hospital. Drake stomach issues. Rick Ross was found unconscious in his house. Wayne had his seizures. Lil Nas X couldn’t control side of his face.

Lil Keed died young, liver failure. Same for Fredo Santana. Fresh Kid of 2 Live Crew, died due liver issues. DMX, dead at age 50 with a heart attack. Biz Markie, 57. Coolio, just shy of 60. Heavy D, who collapsed outside his Beverly Hills home at age 44 due to a pulmonary embolism, or a blood clot in the lungs. Big Wy (teach me how to dougie) dead at 49 with diabetes. Big Pun heart attack. Freeway got liver disease. Boosie, Berner, ESG -> cancer.

The Public Health Post conducted a study in May of 2021 and found that between the years 2008 and 2017, the US saw a “drastic increase in suicide risk among young people. During this time, the rate of suicide between ages 10 and 24 increased by 56%, and suicide rates for people ages 15 to 24 were the highest they had been since 1960. Over this ten-year period, suicide rates for Black youth increased by 60%.”

    -

That same study also a***yzed musical factors present during this time frame and found: “The percentage of rap songs referencing suicide (0% to 12%) and depression (16% to 32%) increased dramatically as did metaphorical language referencing mental health (8% to 44%)

what’s causing all this in rap and will it get worse before it gets better?

you minimized it to “these people are junkies”

when we all know this s*** is way more complicated and deeper than that

you came in here to shut down discussion, not add to it. so therefore just leave then bruh cause you clearly didn’t want to discuss it based on your second post

It’s really not though. If you habitually abuse d****, you will be depressed and unhealthy. It’s not a new concept or anything

Better question is why do all of them do d****, not why all of them have seizures or kidney failure or depression when it’s quite obvious why

it is though if you’re black

I shouldn’t even have to begin to explain why it’s complicated but you clearly lack empathy for d*** users and the fact these health issues can be avoided but they may not trust hospitals for other reasons, such as the complicated nature by which one gets to that point, especially a rapper who may come from a systemic problem (racism) that enabled them to be a “junkie” but to you, it’s just simple black and white

like I said, you not tryna have a discussion. you have your beliefs you have led yourself to believe about d*** use and have come in to shut down conversations. have a blessed day lmfao

yea and it doesn’t help when the leaders have failed us because they were systemically oppressed to the point the struggle became more exciting than realizing we have been brutally destroyed in our abilities to rationalize what we are doing to ourselves or even bring one to comprehend that “hey, maybe you shouldn’t pop that pressed pill just cause a nigga made you mad and you don’t want to think about why you mad in the first place because you don’t even know how to cause you’ve never been afforded the opportunity to learn about being mindful or regulate your emotions thanks to the systems that destroyed our leaders” lmao
