But don’t complain about the underlying model (capitalism) that allows the digital era in all of entertainment (movies, TV, and obviously music) to be exploited by higher ups and greedy CEOs?
There was always a ton of money to be made within the entertainment world and there were always artists making music that was considered shameless cash grabs, however it’s either become more visible or worsened, maybe even both, as the accessibility of all of these mediums for consumption has been lowered and even more for getting started making anything within these mediums just in general.
Simply advocating for a higher price for streaming services or supporting through physicals is putting a Band-Aid on a wider, more insidious issue, even if there’s things that can be currently done that might be a good step. It would be medicating the symptoms rather than the disease/root cause itself.
One thing you can be sure of — there is no pop music streaming service slop under Sharia.
