Notably rappers, but musicians (and celebrities) as a whole. Why do we expect that they’re angels, good, or even sensible folks?

The average rap song talks about committing genuine atrocities whether it’s about how they treat their S/O, violence, d*** use, or even insert your own example.

So when it comes out that these people are actually who they say - in rap, being who you say, ex. being “real” is a big deal - why are people so blown away?

I've thought about this a lot. My honest conclusion? I think it's due to a combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth which is inevitably heartbreaking.

It's because most celebrities have a god complex

my whole thing is in terms of rap music, especially the type that’s poppin atm is that it’s based almost entirely around being a degenerate and deliberately NOT being a decent person. how could you expect decency from someone like King Von, a genuine killer Playboi Carti, a known abuser, or Travis Scott who’s shiesty as hell
