Yeah always forget about him
Mike dean too
Texas doesn't have a supportive local scene the way it did in the 90s and 2000s. The few Texas artists that are popping today mostly had to either leave or affiliate outside to get on. Everyone else is underground with lack of unity

Facts and Texas so big, there's so much money to be made here that local artists just make it by hooking up with the OGs and running around Texas with them.. I just saw a local artist I know do something in San Antonio with zro and slim thug
not a diss, a genuine and sympathetic question
feels like this state always punches under its weight when it comes to producing popping rappers (in quantity, not necessarily quality)
i kno its always done well for itself on a regional level, and that that was satisfying enough -- is it that in the Internet age, there's still not strong enough desire to pop further than being a local legend in HTX and TX more generally?
because there's not enough demand for local hip-hop from the people in Texas. you really have to leave your city to pop off unless you luck up with great rich connections, which is what happened to everyone you can think of that's popping right now. Don Toliver was performing at a small concert and one person in the audience just happened to be close friends with Travis scott. Meg signed to some random millionaire dude. Travis left houston.
