    This site kinda ass

People don’t want James Bond to be black and while some of it is obvi racism it just doesn’t make sense for him to be black and I wouldn’t like that either

Who tf cares who plays what man it’s a f***ing movie and it ain’t even a real person. It’s a f***ing mermaid. Just don’t watch the movie, if ppl don’t watch the movie they’ll get no money.

  • Sep 21, 2022

Twitter propaganda has made y’all think ppl have no choice, when consumers literally make out what is being made and what is not, especially in entertainment.

  • White supremacist ideology that "the white race is being erased" or some stupid ass s*** like that.

  • Sep 21, 2022

why do you care so much is the real question

all this African American influence into the story or character then it’s a bit much

you know just how much the character has been b******ized by Disney already? It’s nothing like the original cultural character from Denmark, which most Danes already don’t give af about. Why do we suddenly care about people infusing culture into a character when it’s black culture entering a white culture

i mean let’s be real, if they made static shock white people would be outraged as well, i think @Jihyo is right with his first part saying any race feels a type of way when a character of their race gets replaced by another one

edit: for the record, i don’t care about little mermaid, but i do also acknowledge that it’s not only white people that get mad about this

i do understand the outrage when it’s a cultural character obviously, but when i it’s a random super hero (static shock - historically black) or a random disney character (little mermaid - historically white), people within that given race will feel a type of way. it’s not just a white thing

Why is being white so fundamental to the character besides superficial appearance? I’ve never heard that explained by anyone.

Static Shock wouldn’t be a good example because characters like him are supposed to be that way to give cultural insight and represent differences as a black hero. A lot of comic book characters are set like that.

The mermaid being white, black, Asian, etc literally does not matter.

Precisely. Changing the race doesn’t matter when the characters background and Inherent ties to adjacent cultural representations doesn’t matter

And the truth is that there are very few nonwhite characters who fulfill this kinda criteria because how current media is so quick to tokenize minorities for lip service points

  • Sep 21, 2022

Also “races get mad when someone’s race is changed” is not a good excuse for this kinda bull s*** going on right now

Why is being white so fundamental to the character besides superficial appearance? I’ve never heard that explained by anyone.

Because the whole basis of the character is him being a misogynistic white male from the 1950s

As much as we like to meme about white people not having culture, (Americans specifically), they do have culture and it can be seen in every action of Bond

The same reason black characters shouldn’t be made to be white.. it’s a fundamental part of a characters identity especially when it’s a real world setting such as Bond

FYI in the bond books Fleming would spend pages going over James Bond’s breakfast routine and such. His whole character is based on the high class white male experience of the time

it's the fundamental fear that if they become minorities they will be treated like minorities

  • A lot of people are also taking obvious twitter sarcasm/jokes like way too seriously lol.

Most the "movies we'll make black" niggas do not really care about. Dont care about a black Bond, I never saw the old ones (or any for that matter)

People need to realize these remakes are adaptions being updated for modern times. Adding more diversity is just adapting it to modern times because we live in a more diverse America

Just like how the new Pinocchio took out any smoking or mention of tobacco

I doubt the live action Peter Pan they’re working on will include the Native American scene the way it is in the animated version
