creating happiness in your partner doesn't bring you happiness? I got nothin to say dawg we living on different planets
It’s foreign to me, i come from a family of ppl who could care less about stuff like that. I legit thought it was crazy at first that people were going out of their way in my girls family to buy each other gifts for christmas. In my family we usually stop giving gifts once said person is 18 lmao unless its just some money some years
Gon be funny when the girl presses op for a ring and he dips
We both agreed we dont believe in marriage
I got my girl shake shack the other day and i damn near shed a tear because of how happy it made her
Doesn’t always have to be a grand gesture, it’s the little things that really go a long way I care about her and her well being why not

yeah well once you're a grown man saying "thats just how I was raised" kind of falls flat on its face imma be honest dawg
if you're cool with being this type of person just let it rock, otherwise I'd schedule an appt with a therapist and work on becoming the man u wanna be

But honestly is how i am bad, like when it comes to the gift things i understood that cuz its cost effective and money could be used on more important things.
I literally love her more than myself
Why

nah i get you OP, it comes off bad to most people but going out the way to do things just wasn't a thing for my family either, as long as you were present then that was enough because of money constraints etc.
not to say I don't do things as i've been told i'm very considerate but that stuff feels automatic (offering water, folding clothes for them when idle etc.)

I can bring deep joy to my wife with hardly a penny spent and it brings me equal parts joy. Does that make me a better partner? idk mate
Mf i don't like to clean up my house. But I like her. Man up or figure out that you don't care about this person
men will spend all their money on someone they feel 0 emotions. for instead of just trying a therapist
Because when you love somebody you (should) want to express your love for them, not just through your words but with your actions also. You (should) want to do things for them that will bring them joy and love and make their days easier.
Now there are different “love languages” to keep in mind. Learn what makes your partner feel loved. It doesn’t have to be gifts or acts of service. Your specific partner may feel the most loved through spending quality time with you, or through receiving words of affirmation or physical touch. All of these aspects should be part of your relationship, but if your partner responds more to one or the other you can focus more on that aspect.
