These few posts in RTJ4 thread got me thinking abt this again
Like EVERY f***ing time lol, same s*** with TA13OO (not even a left field album tbh s*** just has a concept and a variety of sounds)
Apparently making somewhat different from meta rap music is automatically corny and bad? Can someone explain this lol
Edit:
I don't really care about exact definition of reddit-core or list of artists. I'm specifically asking how does it make music worse and why does it even change someone’s perception of said music?
Because a lot of times Reddit actually does f*** with it heavy.
Doesn’t mean it’s bad tho
Also reddit core doesn’t really mean s*** imo. Almost every relevant artist has a subreddit from Drake to Kendrick to Uzi, etc
Are Run the Jewels and Denzel Curry not two of Reddit's favorite rappers?
So is xxxtenacity
So is xxxtenacity
He's literally their second least favorite black person behind chris brown
Reddit moment
He's literally their second least favorite black person behind chris brown
How would you know this?

the subreddits for ye and uzi are way more active than those for "reddit core" artits too

You’re missing my question
I don’t give a f*** what Reddit listens to
I’m asking why/how it makes music worse

He has one of the biggest artist subs. He’s def “reddit core”
You can’t call JPEG mafia reddit core when your favorite rapper has a much bigger fanbase on reddit than he does lol
yall need to go to r/hiphopheads and explain to me how they not have pretty much the exact same opinions like the majority of ktt2 users

The people on subreddits for X, Uzi, Kanye and so on are not the main Reddit community
usually its less about the quality or content of the album and more about how a lot of these albums get circlejerked to death on reddit where you cant go any discussion without them being mentioned, and them being so obsessive with these albums means they get labeled overrated. especially with how like ridiculously obsessive they are about saying the same 5 albums it becomes easy to identify who's from reddit and who isn't a lot, which comes with other implications about how/why they consume music and other stuff

They literally do
I don’t understand where this anti-Reddit thing came from
KTT2 and Reddit are literally one in the same
yall need to go to r/hiphopheads and explain to me how they not have pretty much the exact same opinions like the majority of ktt2 users
Also r/hiphopcirclejerk
I'm convinced that most younger KTT users post on that subreddit
left field albums that are actually not that left field, basically "experimental" rap for plebians get called reddit core. Nobody is calling Drain Gang reddit core, and it's for a reason.

Again
So what? I could give a f*** about who d***rides what. I’m here to bump music and enjoy it, not participate in circle jerks/pretend to be street af etc

They really do, thats why I get confused by the insults. They're not all Aesop Rock listening neckbeards.

i mostly agree with your point but i’d be hard-pressed to find a more archetypal example of a reddit sub for music than r/kanye
The people on subreddits for X, Uzi, Kanye and so on are not the main Reddit community
And the artists you named have more fans on Reddit than run the jewels lol.
Ur basing ur opinion off ktt reddit stereotypes and not for he actual numbers
