Smacked VoodooHe's boring and I say this as someone who has grown up on his brand of New York/east coast rap. Yeah he raps good but he doesn't really do much to separate himself from New York gangster rappers of the past and present.
Like why would I listen to Dave East when I can throw on anyone from Griselda? Or Jay Z? Or Cam'ron and the rest of Dipset? S*** I can put on Stack Bundles and Chinx D***z over Dave East. Pro Era, ASAP Mob, and Flatbush Zombies make way more interesting music. On top of that there's the booming Brooklyn drill wave.
Dave East just don't have much to keep people all that interested.
