shaleiroseNYC definitely bit the UK drill sound around 2019, but for the last year or so they’ve been branching out and making it their own by making it more sample based.
UK drill is more centered around lyricism and interesting flows, whereas NY drill is driven by samples, hype and raw energy. There’s definitely a lot of overlap between the two though, and they know this because they share the same producers and some of them are even starting to collab:
