A sidescrolling sonic with modern graphics would sell 15 million copies easy, assuming it was decent.

A sega genesis mini, could probably sell as well as the nintendo mini, and the ps1 mini.

Instead, we get a garbage ass game gear mini, that no one gives a s*** about, and a live action sonic movie, that only a single make a wish kid couldve possibly wanted.

Bruh, they act like theyre f***in allergic to money

Sega's been milking Sonic since the day he was created, and it STILL is making them ton of money if we think about it.

But you're right, they should make more new and fun Sonic games the same way Nintendo been doing with Mario.

Sonic: 3D world that doesnt suck would be fun to play lol.

In its second weekend, Sonic the Hedgehog made $26.2 million and retained the top spot at the box office, bringing its ten-day domestic gross to $106.6 million

    Sad

Hope it was worth devaluing the brand further.

They released a Sega Genesis Mini last year with like 40 games all ported by M2 who are famed for super accurate ports and on other systems they usually add something new to the table just because they can (Drop Dash in Sonic 2)

I agree with this topic which is why I was going to comment but you off here.

Whatever they’re doing, it’s working. Their CEO said the company is the most profitable and financially secure than its ever been. That’s crazy if you think about it.

How can you say that when they’ve actually said on paper that they’re more profitable than they’ve ever been

Minimal creative output and reliance on their characters selling s***. That’s their agenda. It’s worked.

Btw, most profitable movie of the year. Dont really mean s*** considering it released in the second month of the year, and like 2 weeks before corona hit.

Because their game division were on the brink of bankruptcy for 2 decades.

Every other gaming company is raking in billions a year in PROFITS.

Sega has FINALLY figured out a way to con millions from ppl, after decades of barely breaking even off conning ppl, and im supposed to be impressed?

Sega Sammy reported its earnings for the first half of its fiscal year today, and while revenues were slightly down at the Japanese entertainment giant year-over-year, profits rose roughly 43 percent to ¥14.6 billion (~$135 million USD).

This is significant because the majority of that was generated by Sega Sammy's Entertainment Contents division, which encompasses its video game business as well as animated film, toy, and amusement businesses. The division reported ¥12.7 billion (~$117.5 million) in profits on ¥115.8 billion (~$1.07 billion) in net sales, roughly double the profit generated by the division during the same period last year -- even though net sales only went up about 8 percent year-over-year.

they're doing better than you think.

Movie made $306 million on a 95 million production budget and is still in the top 3 selling blu-ray and home video sellers. They are good.

This current info or from 2018?

Again, 100million as a video game producer who has been around for decades... While the rest of the industry who has been around for a similar time frame, is making billions.

    Is not impressive.
