Crazy how everyone suddenly started praising and liking this album after they ripped it to shreds at its release. Never seen an album grow like that on so many people in such a organic way.
Wlr sold 100k and just went gold
Durk’s The voice dropped after, never sold more than 70k in one week and is already platinum
S/T came out 2017
Die Lit came out 2018
Yeah, those had good beats but Carti just repeated himself a bunch. At least he had some energy on WLR. There's a handful of fun songs on it. He did good
agreed on all points
also, it's just a better album. still getting plenty of spins a year later.
in the year where everything “came and went”

Yeah man ktt was one of the few places where a lot of people were praising it
All my friends irl were trashing it and saying how they wanted another Die Lit
Carti really dropped his most polished work and now people are finally waking up

this would make more sense if there wasn’t a crowd crying for old carti

but to each their own
Tbh, I think Donda was more of a comeback album for Kanye and CLB was kinda rehashed and Drake selling off of his name/popularity.
Neither were particularly innovative or groundbreaking. Donda is still a good album though.
WLR actually sticks out from the pack sonically and thematically and it's a legit good album so that's why I think feels like it stood the test of time more.
That's just how I see it though. I personally still prefer Donda.

There's a crowd crying for old Keem too. Falling in love with mid because it's not popular never works out if the artist gets better
cus ur 15
It would be unfair to not name the donda and clb songs that substantially blew up months later like praise god and knife talk.
Daily thread trying to force ppl to think WLR is more impactful than it is.
Here we go
