Frank was apart of odd future. Tyler popped off and put all his friends on. Frank was one of them.

I don’t even really care for Tyler anymore but he did put niggas on and influenced a lot of s***. Even Uzi recently said Tyler was one of his biggest influences when he started

I mean making music is inherently a narcissistic activity. Everyone has opinions and problems yet you feel an unquenchable thirst to not only share yours - but you’d also like for people to enjoy it too. Then add the fact that you have diehard fans, money, etc. + Tyler is practically a child star. He got the respect of his idols since 17. He barely experienced “real life” despite his tough upbringing

this this this this this this

he’s THE representation of the metropolitan black aristocrat in the 21st century and he loves it

it’s not a new phenomenon, but i’d say this decade is the decade the black coastal elites have become the new mainstream

KTTs weird hatred for Tyler is still one of the most pathetic things of all time. Y‘all just mad that he‘s a music nerd like y’all but actually successful in real life

  • Dec 1, 2022

Tyler lives rent free in the minds of most music sxn users and it is funny af

Every variation of this thread has been done

Tyler thinks excessively of his music personality at times, most superstars do

Gambino spent like a decade framing his works as nerd s*** that should be accessible for black people. And that produced awaken my love

These guys want acceptance but make no mistake, this is more of a motivator for them than anything. Once Gambino made a string of “black” successes, he’s looked on to new challenges. Slowing music down, moving on from Atlanta. It’s a pursuit like anything else

How many songs Frank drop under the odd future label

Why does that matter? It seems like a stupid hang up to have.

He wasn’t signed to the label but he was still a member of the group. Being in OF and making songs with Tyler was what put a lot of people onto Frank back in the day.

That’s like saying Drake didn’t put on xyz artist because they weren’t signed to him when he clearly gave them a big stimulus and look

He was already a signed artist before he joined OF

Good music made Frank a star not a couple Tyler features

Bro comparing Drake giving artists #1 songs, to Tyler giving artists a debut UNDER bubbling under charts.

    Think a little bit.

Frank and Tyler were friends before the fame my guy.

Def Jam reportedly signed you as a recording artist in 2009 but didn't open up its checkbook at that point to help you record. The next year, you met Tyler, the Creator, and the other members of Odd Future. How important was that?

I was at a real dark time in my life when I met them. I was looking for just a reprieve. At 20 or 21, I had, I think, a couple hundred thousand dollars from producing and songwriting, a nice car, a Beverly Hills apartment—and I was miserable. Because of the relationship in part and the heartbreak in part, and also just miserable because of like just carting that around. And here was this group of like-minded individuals whose irreverence made me revere. The do-it-yourself mentality of OF really rubbed off on me.

Kanye tweeted out Tyler’s music I’m like 09 bro. No matter how you wanna slice it he was the first one from that clique to blow up. And everyone else at the time were under the odd future banner
