Can somebody help me here?
He seems like a musician i would love based on the rest of my taste. He is a phenomenal lyricist, has a good voice and seems like a genuinely good guy but his music just seems like a guy on a decent beat freestyling. Seems like it all lacks depth musically, no bridges, no good hooks no variations/switches its just flat
Dude also gives me disappointed step dad vibes with his tone and lyrics

J Cole lowkey overrated by casual listeners and I'm saying this as someone who was a major stan around 2012-2016. Don't let them think there's something you're missing or not seeing, they're just easily impressed
