it’s well-known nowadays (and has been since the early 10s actually) that Kendrick was already signed to Aftermath while pretending not to be when he dropped s80
he pretended to be independent when he had major label backing
in what way was he not a plant?
Who cares?
you don’t get to pretend not to care if you clicked into the thread & dedicated any amount of time to replying
You know the thread gonna be trash when you see the Wayne avi
Good question though
what do you want us to do
realize that calling everyone an “industry plant” is just f***ing stupid because you can apply it to pretty much anyone

a lot of people already think that though
a lot of people already think that though
not enough people
there’s people in the latest “big 3” thread complaining that the “big 3” had “organic” come ups and that’s what’s missing in new artists
come ups weren’t any more organic back then than they are now
Doesn't he skip s80 when talking about his discog?
no he actually goes out of his way to call it an album most of the time
but that’s another story
It's common knowledge Kendrick was running with Game and Dre before s80 not to mention TDE was developing their brand. He was bound to blow up sooner or later

After reading the OP i realized it doesnt matter and I dont care
it’s not well known that he was signed to aftermath pre-section80 because he wasn’t signed to dre yet lmao
he already had the dre, pharrell and rza cosign going into the album and it was basically assumed he was going to sign with aftermath, but he wasn’t.
the fact that the general sentiment was that kendrick would obviously end up with dre kills the point of even hiding it anyway lmao

Y’all don’t even try to pretend these are genuine questions anymore just jump straight to baiting
I vividly recall pre-Section.80 Kendrick and it was very clear that he was aligned with Dr. Dre. The entire underground/online hiphop community was excited for him because he had produced two great mixtapes: The Kendrick Lamar EP and Overly Dedicated. Overly Dedicated was like the biggest thing at the time. No f***en way could he be considered a plant man he put it in the hours and earned it
can someone turn this into a Drake thread
Truthfully who knew who kendrick was before drake put him on with the features and brought him on tour
