its hard to rap over clipping bass noises that cater to people with non developed pre frontal cortex!

not everyone in the underground is using 2slimey beats

this is the modern evolution of what you posted

    lol are you serious?

When we say lyrical we mean s*** like earl sweatshirt on live laugh love or MIKE or a Navy Blue or a $ilkmoney or a vince staples.

You trying to turn this into a #ThatFamousRapper versus #ThatOtherFamousRapper wasnt even what the original tweet was about.

  • insertcoolnamehere

Most of “new ug” rap is definitely women-repellent

And so women’s options are pretty slim. We have the nail tech music like Cash Cobain or women rappers like Meg, Latto, Glo etc.. which is pretty limited in scope as well.

I genuinely have no idea what you're talking about cause I was literally just posting a Drake song..... It didn't even register to me that I brought up a Kendrick song cause I genuinely wasn't tryna start any beef discussion in here

and man who tf tryna hear MIKE on Nettspend beats

I mean this is closer to synth pop really. No lyrical rapper would make it a habit to rap on something like this unless you consider pop rappers like drake or kanye

nah genuinely I wasn't tryna start beef discussion that was just the first "deep" song I could think of

Not even the deepest song on that album

But nah content isnt really the meaning of this thread, also Drake just has better lyrical songs over poppy beats than that.

  • Sounds like something people would call corny

Nettspend/new ug beats are trash lets also keep it a buck @op

  • @op its cause these young niggas don’t have the technical ability or practice of a bad meets evil to keep up with the sounds they are producing so they are settling for auditory stimming between simple bars supported by the beat

  • We definitely have like…diluted what “being lyrical” means

Like the reason we call MIKE lyrical is you can hear the mf DOOM influence in his music.

  • genghiskharti

I mean this is closer to synth pop really. No lyrical rapper would make it a habit to rap on something like this unless you consider pop rappers like drake or kanye

And I agree, thats why I could see drake on something like this like he did with the trippie song but expecting a earl/mike lyricist doesn't make sense to me for this pocket of the underground.

bruh i feel like we passed the point where we call beats good just for being "experimental" when in reality they're just buns

  • Rappers dont say controversial s*** and being "lyrical" aka political is inherently controversial

  • Leave ug rap outta this i dont wanna have to body yall over a production debate

Could’ve sworn MIKE and Earl dropped an album produced by Surf Gang and crew, what in the f*** is homegirl talking about

  • It goes back to the influences during ur formative years

Most new artists list s*** like carti, uzi, trippie, juice, etc as their influences

  • hard to be traditionally lyrical over 473bpm

turns out people couldnt hear those amazing lyrics™ over the mumbling lol

  • This is such a dishonest talking point too like ur telling me the people clammoring for this would magically like bleeod if the writing was better? These people already call that type of production ass
