do yall consider TLOP4 pluggnb? I consider songs like try me and feds to have a similar sound
Not gonna read all that
Can't yall just make a sincere post for one day in your life
We need good singers for plugnb to become mainstream. Cause I honestly don't remember any hooks or quotables from these guys except yeat.
Yatchy did this style of music better back in 2016
Jaydes out now
Also Yachty did not make similar music to these guys wtf y’all just say ANYTHING on here

Is the melodic music he made for his bday mixes and singing songs not a precursor to this sound or that's another sub genre?
P sure I was explicit
Is that end of transmission s*** ur alt? If not, wasnt referring 2 u x

The sugarhill gang is the precursor
i say this as a recent college grad, but i think the simplicity of their lyricism is great lol. its super young imo though and can understand older people not rocking with it. i personally love it though. pierre summrs and autumn have such nice simple down bad lyrics lol
I like pierre a lot since tlop 4, so does that mean i should actually give the slayworld guys a fair shot? Lmao

Definitely not the precursor to this sound is MexikoDro, Stoopidxool, poloboyshawty, and the artists that would make songs over their beats such as Diego Money, Old Carti, UnoTheActivist
Then producers such as xangang & goyxrd started making more melodic plugg beats in 2018 and Summrs and then Autumn! began singing over them which is when pluggnb was created. Then they started incorporating R&B melodies into the beats bringing the sound to what we have today
You could say the producers took influence from the melodic styles that were popping off on SoundCloud during the time but I would never say Yachty has anything to do w pluggnb directly nor would I say he’s a precursor really

Also tryna see sumn about this… pierre energy just always felt more down to earth and less corny than the slaywrld kids, especially on tlop4 moreso than 5

idk who slayworld consists of lmaooooo but i think summrs and autumn have a similar sound to the Try Again - Be Mine - Feds run on TLOP 4
hi-hats are supposed to be like that tho @op
ur right
and since this isnt a bait thread im gonna actually explain why i dont like them
1. i think they get cut off too much and you cant hear the end of the sound at that rythm which i dont like
2. i like when artists rap on the rhythm of the hi hat like what 3 6 started. with pluggnb artists to me it sounds offbeat beacuse theres like 4-8 hats for every sylable so they sound like they cant keep up when the the hat is hitting every 32 (and tbf who could? its just too fast)
Also tryna see sumn about this… pierre energy just always felt more down to earth and less corny than the slaywrld kids, especially on tlop4 moreso than 5
i personally think its equal levels of corny but i dont mind it lol. theyre not trying to be some lyrical geniuses here. just talking their s*** bout ladies and relationships gone bad without getting too poetic, which i think is relatable to how many look at those similar things.
this isnt an @Melz hate thread either i appreciate him putting on and enjoying the artists and IMO the wave is big they're all dong fairly good numbers so its worth talking about because clearly theyll be here for a while

never thought of this but yeah in a lot of ways this was kinda the blueprint (idk what came first) theyre def similar
i also see a lot of people throw yeat into this grouping but idk lol, has yeat really done pluggnb? not to my knowledge/when he has tried it imo its much worse.

again, i really am speaking of Try Again - Be Mine - Feds, this three run stretch more than anything to me is super similar to some of the stuff summrs and autumn are making rn. there may be other similarities on TLOP4 too, i havent spun it front to back in a while, but those 3 songs stand out to me.

i mean theyre associated and off top i emember the song with summrs alien language being pluggnb but i dont remember. but yeah yeat def has songs with weiland and summrs that are that before he moved onto the more rage sound

Honestly I wouldn’t be mad at someone saying Feds is pluggnb but it’s definitely not intentionally pluggnb
I would never classify TLOP4 as pluggnb but I completely see what you are saying and why someone would say that to be honest but I don’t think it’s necessarily accurate

youre good, im speaking super super broadly on pluggnb, i am not well versed on what categorizes something as pluggnb. i just listen to those songs and hear similarities to those last 4 songs off the new autumn tape and that one hes got with tecca, and some of what ive heard from summrs.
the rage scene right now that’s on SoundCloud is pluggnb/duwap/summrs inspired but it’s it’s own thing (old head trigger warning)
vvv bro deserves his roses, it’s more r&b chords than Pierre but i see ur point
weiland did a lot too

I’ll prob make a thread later just explaining everything about the scene and who is connected to who bc it took me months on months to figure everything out
