Sales only play half the role and Ye basically had a high profile beef, stadium listening parties, 30 songs, and half the industry on the album to boost his sales.

Cole and Kendrick didn't have anywhere near the promo that Ye did. In fact, Kendrick didn't even announce an official album until March of 2022 in response to a Twitter fan. Also, Off Season was on the same level as Donda musically imho while MMTBS was easily the best album out of the 3.

In 2023 going onto 2024, Cole and especially Kenny are more reliable for dropping a quality album than Kanye if Donda 2 and Vultures are any indication.

Ye burned so many bridges that he'll be fortunate to pull 100k fw while Cole/Kenny are outdoing that easily.

Overall, though, Kanye's in a different generation from the "Big 3" to begin with.

Because the big 3 refers to the premier rappers who DEBUTED in the 2010s

  • Dec 18, 2023

    Because Kendrick made GKMC.

That album alone will forever cement him into that "big 3" category.

    Watch your mouth, OP.

I think the generation is a bit of detractor in this situation the definition of “big 3” shouldn’t be generational but reflective of popularity and talent, and with ye still outselling their latest releases even after all his controversies he still is atleast number 2

  • Was Donda your first Oanye album? Because his debut was in 2004. Big three term came about when Drake, Ole, and Kendrick were still fresh-faced legends of their era
