I recently saw a poll on Youtube that asked who was the best rapper, it had a few people in the including Nas and Nas got the least votes. When i checked in the comments the few that were adressing Nas said some stuff about how nobody listens to him of their gen

I mean you know what you’re getting with Travis. there are some intriguing snippets but overall it’s gonna be vapid lyrics and great beats. Travis ain’t touching nobody soul for anyone to “need” his music he just a perfect storm of marketing/connections and having good taste.

Hiphop has always been a young mans sport, and given the sound and wave this younger gen is on they are the majority and they decide what's hot rn... even though it might sound like a far cry as to what hiphop is about for us

Wouldn't say ''touch the soul'' but i do think we should give Travis more credit than this
His music makes you float and everything from production to vocal effects sounds more polished than 90% of hiphop albums that we get
His lyrics are shallow but they are def not the main focus and i'd argue that meaningful lyrics wouldn't even elevate his music and what he's trying to do like that

My girl’s cousin who’s like 20 sees people like Kendrick as intellectual rap so they don’t see bother to listen to him like that. I feel like people in his age group, which I’m assuming makes up a good portion of KTT’s as well just listen to street rap or trap and anything else is considered boring lol
