It's difficult for rappers too but seems much harder for singers to get a fan base that will stay with them album after album. You have to really keep killing it with the singles.

If the demand was there it woulda did numbers. The hiatus/label issues really wasn't even long, he was only gone for like 1 year. Motley Crue also flopped even before the hiatus.

I mean I’m not really a big post fan but somewhat remember he didn’t really put effort into his rollout. Either way he’s one of the biggest artists out recently. This is his first miss we’ll see how he bounces back. You can’t simply lump him in with artists like roddy lol

Post was popping before then. But there is definitely something about that COVID crop of artists who blew up and all fell off with mid albums immediately after.

I think people really were just accepting anything at some point. We were down so bad in 2020 we let anybody get on. Mario Judah being the prime example.
