Never understood posts like that.
mods are too pc and sjw these days
there should be some more convo between users n mods about moderation habits i think. i don't wanna jump to saying that the mods are overly strict because i understand that this site (ktt2) was made with the intention of growing its userbase beyond what the old ktt had, and in that regard, i think it's true that there are users here now (and who characterized some of the old ktt as well) who have perspectives and opinions that could easily turn away a segment of mainstream people who may otherwise wish to join/participate in the forum. this isn't helped at all by the fact that many users also suck at discussing things and respond on a largely reactionary/emotional/irrational/insulting level -- but this aspect isn't contained to any 1 group; it's pretty ubiquitously found in many groups.
so the issue i think the mods/admin are having is: do they quiet some of these users to keep the forum friendlier by muting particular contrarian attitudes/locking threads? or do they allow the discourse at risk of pushing away people who'd rather not associate themselves with certain topics (whether or not this is an appreciable quality for a person to have isn't necessary to this consideration. the fact is that many of the audiences whom i presume ktt2 would enjoy the participation of will have a sense of this attitude in varying degrees)
in practice, i can somewhat see why they may lean towards the former because the latter sometimes, and only sometimes, results in actual discourse. as said earlier, sometimes threads that you may call non-PC just devolve into vitriol and become unappealing from both an "i don't like that perspective" viewpoint and a s***ty discussion/shitty ppl insulting ppl viewpoint
a predictable and resultant consequence of this stricter moderation is demonstrated in ur post/some others alike, which is that now some users, and even those who aren't necessarily harbingers of whatever-thought-ktt2-mods-deem-uncool, are getting a bit spiteful, espc cus some of us know that the old ktt didn't have as strict of rules*
anywho that's why i think there should be some acknowledgement from the mods' side on this, as well as some opportunity to discuss it with the users in a productive way, cus the only real recognition i've seen from mods of moderation tactics/theory in the past have been mods getting the final word on a thread and then locking it right afterwards, which i think gives a pretty poor public perception of moderation.
*digression: what even are the rules? this is my stake in the matter; a lot of moderation seems to abide by . . . basically whatever the mod says, and then people get punished cus of whatever views the mod may hold. that's arbitrary; yeah, you can catch on to mods' personalities to kinda guess what you think they'd allow/disallow, but that really shouldn't be left up to the user.
if there's a guideline of rules, where? if there isn't, why? it'd be a great place to start building (with ktt2 members' input, i would say) a proactive answer to some of these things.
cause if a thread is active and getting lot of pages mods have to lock it:

@gay4frank that goes for u too, i only replied to u cus u expressed a sentiment i find somewhat pervasive in the communities that i wanted to extrapolate into some "well what can we do about it?" dialogue. if u don't care then don't feel obligated to read lol
