No one thinks his discography is mid. He has 5 bad projects imo tho.

Great production: Illmatic, It Was Written, The Lost Tapes, Stillmatic ,Street's Disciple, Life Is Good, Nasir, King's Disease

Mid production: God's Son, Hip Hop is Dead, Untitled, The Lost Tapes 2

Bad production: I Am..., Nastradamus

Bad or mid?

Lemme ask this then. Why does Nas get a bad rep of having terrible production if majority of his albums have great production?

I’d say 3 bad ( I Am, Nastradamus, Nasir) and 2 mid (streets disciple and hip hop Is dead)

Because some of his worst beats are completely atrocious (Braveheart Party, Big Things, Zone Out, etc.) He's also one of the few artists that have worked with every legendary producer in Rap and still picks the worst from the litter.

I like the production too much on Nasir for me to call it complete trash, but it definitely displays the worst rapping I've ever heard from Nas.

I Am isn't bad.

Nastradamus was mid but it wasn't horrible.

Only album I legit can't go back to is Street's Disciple.

Nah, he's rapping his ass off on that album, but the reason why it's regarded as his worst is because the several of its tracks leaked before it's release, so he had to re-configure the album and record new songs. Many of those songs were half-assed attempts at commercial records. Also, the original album was a double album that featured the best of I Am and The Lost Tapes, which would've put it in its own class but due to the leak, we got two separate albums, one that was a disjointed mess with a few highlights I Am.. and the other was a worthless afterbirth, Nastradamus.

How? Most of the production is good

I don't know all the songs feel like filler to me, none of them really hit imo.

All those Salaam Remi beats. Streets Disciple was the album the 'Nas picks bad beats' meme really took off

the funny part is that those salaam remi beats were actually the highlights of that album. and that meme didn't take off until the next decade, not with street's disciple.

Ima have to listen. I know I didn’t like his fast rapping on Big things (on I am)

But I skimmed through Nastrodamous and it sounds like he rapping his ass off
