like, this man vehemently opposed “busing” to end segregation in schools and basically said things should be separate but equal, drafted the infamous 1994 crime bill (which he’s defending as recent as 2016,) the Anita Hill fiasco, not to mention all his social flubs throughout the years

like this man is literally continuing to hide behind Obama and trick people and no one is calling him out or bringing to light how sketchy he’s been regarding black issues in the past

whereas Bernie was literally in the trenches with civil rights (prior to any political office, showing it wasn’t for personal gain or leverage,) marched with MLK, organized sit ins, was chained side by side with black women and arrested for protesting segregation in chicago. literally like the sole former civil rights activist on the Senate.

and what makes it even better? he uses none of that past for political capital or personal gain

him not using activist s*** to win minority support makes those votes even more genuine and doesn’t let him fall into the dangers of cult-of-personality types. i respect that very much and it’ll make it even better if he wins, but tactically speaking, yes, he should just air out everything
