S*** there's so many man. Honestly it's a lot of getting used to the sounds because you'll never find any of these sounds anywhere else. It's a lot of shock to what you're used to. You can always find elements of his stuff being obviously replicated by other artists everywhere though.

absolute legend who sadly never got the praise he truly deserved within this generation. his impact is still being felt
one of the most misunderstood artists of this gen
Thing about hip hop is that it's less about talent these days and more about marketing skills. That's not at all me saying hip hop is worse these days, it's way better. But with the abundance of competition the only way you're getting traction is with good marketing skills. Purrp is an instance of someone whose so incredible and unique that he is at the cusp of being able to not have to worry about marketing, but because everything he does is the worst thing you could do for brand equity and marketing he collapses.

Listen to vampire life the mixtape. Some of those songs are obviously not refined and just fleeting creativity but they still ended up influencing everyone. Carti's entire baby voice is super purrp-esque and one such instance on that tape is the song N.B.A ; compare the time periods and it's hilarious

ehhh saying carti got influenced by that is a stretch considering carti was doing that sound which is more influenced by black kray and the atl underground than anything
purrp didn't start mumbling like that on tracks until like 2015-2016

It's definitely not purrp alone that influenced it but purrp started doing that in 2014 and almost everything he released in 2015 (loosie-wise) was that, I'd say he started the exact style carti does now in 2016 going off my knowledge but black kray is another name that does not get enough love and is completely on his own path like purrp. Only instance of someone doing that in 2019 that comes to mind is what Hi-C and the reptilian club boyz are doing, it's so hard to find artists who try new things man.

The way he just sits on the beat for two minutes before delivering one of his best freestyles always blows my mind because it's one of few instances where prolonged hype actually delivers and it never gets old

the mainstream rejects experimentation and always will

Only time I've seen it break into the mainstream is with memes, death grips comes to mind. But even then all the s*** they were doing was refined by Zach Hill over the course of 10 years and the amount of people who appreciate what they do is insignificant compared to the amount of people who herald yeezus' "experimentation"
Like personally I really really like yeezus but it sucks when people say s*** like "one day people gone look back and see what 'x' artist did for music" when I can tell you right now that never happens. You still got people trying to explain what 3 6 mafia was and the amount of people who've heard s*** past late night tip is under 1%
