First album was pretty good for someone starting out.
Second album was just the first album again, but worse then before
And then we realized he said everything he needed to say on the first one. There’s no artistic progression beyond that.

Yeah Not everyone needs to make 6+ albums
Because he doesn’t have an interesting image or aesthetic that people can latch onto.
Being a rapper is not enough to pop off anymore.
with the kind of music he make ideally i feel like he would garner the same respect that somebody like saba get but eh
Difference is Saba is a great artist. You feel what he’s writing and he puts those words into great music. Care For Me and Few Good Things were both fantastic albums, he’s one of the best and most distinctive young Chicago rappers out today.
Cordae on the other hand… I could just listen to J. Cole.
Cordae at the phase In his career where he knows the next album is do or die for him and he’s throwing anything at the wall to try and make it stick. First the Anderson Paak collab he released last year with Cole production trying to replicate the success of RNP, and now moving into this slight pivot in sound.
Still can’t believe this guy sucks so bad he got out rapped by Anderson paak
Paak is a good rapper
just too great of a singer and all around musician for us to view him as a rapper
1.This produced by serial rapist Dr Luke, cowrote by bunch of famous rap ghostwriters
2. he cant even be considered dollar store cole, unlike dreamville weed carriers. Most of his "conscious" songs sounds like a edgy teen tryna be a smartass
3.His newer flexing stuff tryna be mainstream falls flat too cause thats not who he is n his fatass aint fooling noone
4. he's 25???

He is but rapping is secondary to him and he still out rapped the guy who put all his focus on being a lyrical rapper

Goddamn bro chill
too commercial and propped up and clean for the Slums audience. too boombap and dusty for the mainstream
I thought his first album was pretty good and showed potential but his latest single is not it.
Who is his core audience?
He was propped up because he was more of a conventional rapper compared to his contemporaries, but that novelty has worn off.
He's only 25 so he still has time to develop, but why do you think he isn't connecting on a wider scale?
He’s boring and uninteresting.
