Idk if this has been posted before but I’m genuinely curious. Why isn’t voting online? They have ways to verify people are citizens and it can allow people who can’t make it to voting ballots have a chance to do so which could greatly impact the outcome

Tbh in 2020 the biggest threat to any country is somebody hacking their s***.

If there was a data breach someone might literally get the info of everyone in America who voted

The convenience aint worth the potential s***fest

  • Jul 9, 2020

Can be compromised very easily if everyone can just go on the internet to connect to it

Hackers always find a way, don’t need to hand them the keys

  • A lot of reasons. How do you know your vote is being counted? Unless we know how the service is running, there is no assurance your vote is counted.
There is also the issue of it being done on a large scale. If there is an issue in a small town, everyone across the country is going to have that same issue. That just doesn't happen through standard voting.

  • One of the biggest problems is that voting is supposed to be anonymous/a secret ballot, but how do you do that over the internet? Secure internet protocols all rely on using keys and encryption to "prove your identity." If you can't verify peoples identitys, you'll obviously run into a ton of potential risk for interference, fake votes, etc.

  • Jul 9, 2020

we need token based Anonymous auditable blockchain voting

  • Jul 9, 2020

Yeah, if there's a way to ensure that voting can be done online securely, with no chance of being hacked, and with a full-proof way of verifying your vote then that would mean there have been some gigantic leaps in our society's technology.
