People keep talking about the Billboard changes from last year. But the most impactful billboard changes are from January this year.
The changes this year means people will no longer be counted for multiple purchases. If someone makes 4 Digital purchases of an album it will still be counted as one purchase. AKA BTS and Drake stans can no longer manipulate numbers.
For example if we look at the Weeknds numbers.
Dawn FM did 148k this year when After hours did 440k in 2020.
Kendrick going from 600k in 2017 to 320k in 2022 is MEGA.
If we ratio it the same as the weeknd that would be around 1.2M in 2017.
No artist other than Drake, Adele, Taylor swift will be able to break 400k AT MOST & they would need HUGE promotion and have physicals on release too.
Just not happening.
Kendrick 320k is MEGA after the Jan 2022 change.
kendrick stans so mad lmfao, cant wait for drake to do a perfect rollout and drop a milli

King s***
Harry styles about to do it next week
kendrick stans act like they dont care about sales but then they post s*** like this
and we all know that if kendrick would have sold more than drake they wouldnt stop talking about that s*** like they did in 2017
like someone said a couple of days ago, social media killed the superstar just like video killed the radio star
You sat here and wrote this Garbage on a false premise
Majority of sales comes from steaming. Even they guys that sell 'hard copies' outside of Adele and Taylor Swift don't even sell 50k physicals. The billboard rulw was for digital copies purchased on itunes. A popular album with about 20 tracks will push upwards of 450k. It's common sense bro
