All the space exploring billionaires and their supporters claim Mars is our only hope for survival but wouldnt it make more sense to spend all that money trying to build floating or even underwater cities
This seems to be the most logical solution to rising sea levels. I get that there would be a lot of complications to this but I cant imagine it being more complex than trying to build and transport to Mars. The oceans are right next to us and it would be so much easier to study them than it is to learn about Mars. Not to mention that would create so much more space on Earth since they make up like 75% of the surface.
Can anyone explain why this wouldnt work or would be worse than trying to live on Mars?
Dummie
cant breathe
sandy found a way and she's a squirrel
shes from texas
no man made structure can handle the underwater pressure for more than 5-10 decades and if it does its not sanitary enough to live in
The surface of water makes more sense than underwater but even then there's a lot of complications surrounding pressures and the inhabited environment that's mostly unknown and unpredictable. Way more harm than good would come out of it I think. We'd probably disturb and destroy a lot of life.
Also the advancement for space exploration should be to eventually expand our reach rather than remain on a world we're going to continuously f*** up.

What about like really large submarines that have cities inside of them but can come up to the surface occasionally for repair

Yea the ocean is still mostly undiscovered.. I think we should get on that
Why go to a different planet without making the most out of this one first you know

you answered your own question
all these submarines that come for repair are at some point withdrawn due to the damage they sustain on the deep sea level

Aren't we predicted to run out of essentials to keep things running?
I think looking to space is just an option right now, but one day we'll need to begin to search for an answer that'll most likely be on another planet.
Also oceans will probably breed huge issues and endanger people. Weather can be unforgivable. It's just way too much to gamble on imo.
the sea is scarier than space imo cause of how close it is
like imagine the terror of knowing godzilla-like creatures exist 1 million miles underwater
governments would try to get involved and drop nukes for ''self-preservetation of the human race''
s*** would be a total s***storm
