He broke three live stream records in a row,Set the record for most sales at a show on a us tour with just merch at that and the album set numerous records when it dropped on Spotify and s***.
How did that happen for him and why not for Wayne and Em who and artist who have solid fanbases or in Cole and Tylers case have younger fanbases?.
I don't think anyone expected Donda to set records like it did and seeing CLB break them only raises more questions as to how Kanye got close at all?
I know yall gonna want to fight but please be chill

Kanye still has the game in a chokehold and people don’t wanna admit it. Also, I think a lot of people were hyped that he and Kim broke up so they figured he was going to drop another MBDTF/ TLOP level album....so that’s more promo

i mean he's kanye. beyond a huge fanbase he's a major celebrity that people pay attention to just to see what it's all about. not to mention the kardashian's have a huge following and all their fans are going to tune in too.
add that to an insane push from apple music,
an insane list of features including most of the most relevant artists right now,
and some controversy and it makes plenty of sense.
He was able to generate a lot of hype thar carried over to social media which basically worked on itself as a form of free promo
-his silence
-the attention the kim divorce and election brought
-infectious hype
-longer & more accessible than the previous two albums
-good music
