Look at the last 3 years. In fact progress has stagnated. We just doing the same s*** over and over again with minimal improvements. Look at desktop pcs, Iphones, Headphones and even software.
ChatGpt is a glorified text generator and while its useful calling it artificial intelligence is not much more than a marketing gag
Stable Diffusion, Chat GPT were released within the last 3 years. Its a different ballgame now...

FireMarshallAutonomous agents are already a thing. you basically plant a seed (the initial prompt) and watch it do its own thing, including prompting itself further
Which is to say that "prompt engineering" or whatever cope term people came up with will soon be a useless skill to haveI mean you can ask chatgpt to be an expert level prompt engineer. I give our society 1 or 2 more generations before it devolves into chaos though, once education starts becoming less appealing in the west/the loan bubble pops.

Having thought about this more and learning the limitations of the current tech, I definitely exaggerated how fast ai will take over, it will be some years before the most vulnerable fields see serious integration, and there are many fields that won't even be affected
It does seem true that higher education based fields will be affected the most, but for now experts are still needed for essentially making sure the ai actually works
