    Case in point:

For all these new gimmicks and technology and innovation that all you young post 9/11 niggas wanna brag about and shove in our faces in this era, the ONLY hip hop album that's gonna be looked at in the same vein of TPAB/GKMC and MBDTF

is Some Rap Songs. A f***ing sample-heavy lo-fi piece of work.

But once agin, keep s***ting on the dustheads my g.

so then why are people still hoping for the next mbdtf when theyve apparently gotten mbdtf2, 3, 4, 5 and 6

people just want a duplicate of the feeling they got when listening to, for example, mbdtf. problem is they will never get that feeling with anything else because there wont ever be anything like it. Now if they want something “of the same ambition”, then why not just say, “when will we get an album with the same level of ambition as mbdtf?”

i know im not the only person who gets perplexed when people say they want another “insert album name here”. im just proposing a change in phrasing, so that some people in the process of doing this can also realize their judgement and wishes are clouded by nostalgia

    OP is right.

But when it comes to Kanye i just want him to have the same drive and passion he had when he made MBDTF.

And even those albums weren't extremely innovative.

MBDTF was great, sample heavy beats you can spit on and everybody at their A Game lyrically.

GKMC was a modern take on an album you'd get in the 90s

TPAB uses a lot of funk and jazz influenced production, 2 genres that basically helped form the foundation of Golden Age Rap Production. The main innovation to this was that it didn't sound like the contemporary Trap influenced album.

The fact that these are the top 3 and the elements that made these albums great could've very well coexisted in a dustier era, means a lot of the hate for dusty Rap is uncalled for imo
