Whether it’s Singapore or Japan, Thailand or Vietnam, every country in Asia is clearly healthier and has a brighter future than anywhere in the West (excluding the United States, which will remain geopolitically powerful and probably become more so)

depends what you mean by future

e.g. Japan's economy is f***ed beyond belief and they are facing the biggest pension crisis in the world which is going to cripple their younger generations

at the same time they have cultural cohesion like few other nations because they haven't sold out what it means to be Japanese. their stance is very clear; you're either blood or an outsider.

the social contract is incredibly strong and that is going to be so valuable going forward. on the flipside you can see it up in flames around France and the UK right now.

    What you mean by implosion?

Basically the GOP has a large mental health problem that's only being hidden by their love and support for Trump. You see how easily Trump can lie to them and they'll follow his every word.

This is not sustainable for a political party. Other candidates (Desantis mainly) are trying to run with Trump's gameplan and failing badly. The GOP does not take other republicans seriously as long as Trump is still around.

So after Trump is gone (or not healthy enough to run anymore) there's gonna be a huge ideaology dump and most of his followers are either gonna be dying with him or quitting politics altogether. There will be no strong republican candidates left, just a bunch of weakened individuals who will never have the support Trump had.

S*** looks bleak right now but that will probably be the tipping point of a Democrat takeover.

Yeah these none of these countries are perfect by any means, but I think they (in the case of Japan, for example) they will weather the storm better and thus maintain a higher quality of life and then other countries (like Vietnam) are clearly on the upswing. Also I definitely exaggerated just a bit with “Asia vs the West”, certain Asian countries are either going nowhere or at the mercy of history (like Taiwan, whether that’s war or Hong Kongization). Another relative advantage that Asia has is that it seems most of their (thinking Japan and Korea here) socio-political crises hit the West as well at a 15-20 year delay, but this is less true the other way around.

American politicians are disgusting. Trump blocking railroad updates and Biden saying no to their unification. While barrels of carcinogenics flow down their rivers is wild.

Black America in the 80s sounded like a horror movie when I hear stories from those who were actually there
