hot take honestly nevermind isn’t good summer music
cool album but it’s the slowest and saddest dance music ever
Agreed. It's Fall music
Probably not. Will he have a songs that get played everywhere yea....but probably not the definitive song of the summer.
Any song he puts out will have petty disses or controversy attached to it. It's just who he is now. Social media will run with it and over shadow the dopeness of any song he releases.
Until Drake relearns how to put the Mr Petty king persona to the side sometimes and just focus on the music he will never have a song of the summer again. Not saying he can't or isn't capable but we just know he gonna shove some nonsense lines or bs in that takes over the narrative.
Turn the petty king off in the studio session and just give us a 2023 controlla or one dance . he turned off the petty king stuff for most of Honestly Nevermind but didn't promote it barely.
You forget about Wait 4 U last year?
you say this like God's Plan wasnt meant to be a random loosie... with trippie redd of all people on it
same with Hotline Bling
Drake doesn't really seem to understand what's gonna be a hit and what wont. I'm pretty sure Search and Rescue was a legit attempt by him, he even tried to hype it up with a snippet
Can you imagine saying Drake doesnt understand what is a hit before 2022??
Crazy times
@Vietbrah announce the Drake feature on Jack Harlows new album
He had a great 2022 and just dropped a single that people seem to somewhat like, if he keeps up steam I could see him making a (successful) song of the summer attempt. I’d wager he’s a bit more focused on the tour tho.

I think we getting a another album this year. 2022 was an experimental year. HNVM and Her Loss. 2 projects that I think were passion projects for him. They were probably fun to make and relaxed. Not much pressure. I think Drake didn't like the reception of CLB after all the years of building that album up. People have largely forgotten about CLB. It didn't make the same impact as any of his previous albums. I believe he could be secretly cooking up the next big studio album of his career. Whether it drops this year is a mystery, but I could see it happening. He could be working on it right now as we speak...
Please stop comparing everything to summer 16. Never in music, or simply as a species, will we reach that high again.

Hopefully it's a concise solo album with only 1-2 features
