Nah it's kinda over for him if we talking BIG hits. His last one was 6 Foot 7 Foot right? Believe Me wasn't that big

i just think at this point wayne can’t make a hit unless he’s attached to the right people which isn’t a knock on wayne bc he’s nearly 30 years in he just can’t make a hit line that at this point

It just brings me back to my theory about aging artists that I came up with forever ago: They stop dropping hit records either because they get complacent or their ear can't adapt to modern production

Uproar was his last modest one. Big? Either Believe Me or Love Me

yeah chances are artists just fw whatever got them there. like we don’t hear nas going in over destroy lonely beats or wale on a rage beat. drake’s been so relevant for so long because he keeps going in over new production and links up with the right people doing specific sounds

I thought believe me was big too but it was only 26 on billboard. Uproar was 7. Although streaming made a difference there

What makes you say Hit-Boy? Interesting

I just love the way that he revitalized Nas late career resurgence. I feel that he could do the same thing with Lil Wayne as well.

Peaks aren't everything. Believe Me made the year end list, Uproar didn't (and was more of a radio hit than big in sales/streaming).

THIS is what I mean by modern production. So cleanly mixed too, love big budget movie productions.

How was Wayne perceived in 2004-2007? How big was he? I know Tha Carter II had hype.

Big but nothing close to what he became when C3 leaks/singles dropped

I don't think he has the hability to make hits no more, but he definitely has the hability to create good songs and a high quality album

He needs his yes men to piss off so he can get something hot and current production/feature wise. And idk...C5 had Uproar but despite being a top 10 it was really a modest hit longterm. Fast forward 5 years and his mainstream presence is a lot lower

Yeah I was surprised uproar was in commercials and stuff for awhile. I could see him doing that again

4:44 didn't have a hit. Unless you're talking about Apeshit w/ Beyonce the next year

    Huh? Cap. Story of OJ

Making a hit isn't about ability it's about how hot you are. Wayne is a previous generation artist so the general crowd isn't checking for his stuff

Tyga's biggest hit dropped in 2018 (7 years after his major label debut/Rack City). Stranger things have happened

I think he could make a hit in the same vein as Pharrell - Happy if that makes sense.

I’d rather see him have a Nas/Hitboy type run of acclaimed albums past his prime than a hit song
