    Prince never tried to make music with commercial appeal like that.

    The only album he did (Purple rain) he blew everyone out of the water and had a hit movie on top of that.

    Plus prince gave a lot of his catchier songs to Morris day and the time and the rest of his artist.

    Prince wasn't no damn reclusive, underground artist. He tried to make hits. And he could pump them out like MJ.
