everyone hated 808s at the time whilst it silently influenced most of the next generation.
this has that same polarising effect on people and to me sounds like nothing else.
be interesting to see how we feel about this album in 5 years time and the impact it will have on music over the next few years.
Man its been only one day
the critical response is completely disconnected from the average listener for this album. Nowhere near as polarizing as 808s
Man its been only one day
But he probably has listened it more than you will in 3 months tho
Man its been only one day
im aware of the how time works
This is a hypothetical question?
people still rate "Ye" as medicore i expect the same will happen will this joint 'cause it's bloated and not as focused as some of his previous efforts if anything it's Kanye's "Scorpion", in that regard ironically.
I think 808s is a completely different animal. It was a concise, committed, and jarring choice at the time, and part of that was that it sounded like almost nothing that came before.
Donda feels more like it'll be looked back like TLOP: flawed, unhinged, bursting at the seams, but passionate and effective as a vehicle for some of his most genuine and best work.
It's also only been a day lol
