Rickles was untouchable.

Remember in “Goodfellas” when De Niro and Liotta are so happy Pesci’s gonna be “made” because, even though they aren’t Italian, if Pesci is untouchable, then so are his boys?

Sinatra was that “made man” to Rickles. If someone like Will Smith did that to Rickles back in the day, they’d get yanked into a side room at the after party and have a hammer taken to their hands by two big goons named Alfredo and Luigi.

I don't even know what I'm reading with that article but Larry David is my patron saint and I have no problem getting in public confrontations but I'm still not about to throw hands if I'm dressed to the nines. Maybe it's something about my childhood and usually only dressing up when my grandma was around.

I think hospitals or childrens events are the only places I'd consider the closest to untouchable

I have seen a fight break out at a funeral and it was a true moment
