So if you convince a book seller (i.e. Barnes & Noble) to bulk purchase the book the week of release for sale, it doesn't matter how many people buy it, it's immediately a #1 best seller. almost all of these books come from the same 3-4 publishing houses so they all know each other's schedules, and they rotate books for release knowing when they will be wholesale sold so every book gets a #1 no matter what
