No problem with this era btw I’m thoroughly enjoying what he’s been putting out this decade (aside from CLB which was solid just disappointing after the 3 year hype build up and the unrealistic magnum opus expectations)
But yeah Drake’ll be 37 this year I think, same age as Hov when he dropped Kingdom Come 😳 S*** kinda wild when you think about it
Obviously he’s a much more youthful guy and people are more youthful in general these days but before we know it we’re gonna look up and Drake will be 40
Y’all think we goin see dad rap Drake emerge in a few years or will he cling to his youth for dear life into his 50s?
I feel like that was iyrt or even possibly nwts?
Ehhhh ig he was serious about asserting his dominance in that era but he was still mostly having fun and making a lot of bangers and spitting the braggadocio bars
SFG-TC era was pretty serious but he was hella young so he didn’t really have the perspective he has now

I guess, I dunno it felt like he was so honed in about all that "the boy has become the man" s***
I dunno that was coming of age era for me maybe I read too far into it

I mean you not wrong there definitely was substance there but he was still so young so that wasn’t necessarily his primary focus
In contrast I could totally see a 40 year old Drake in his dad rap bag and treating the singles as a secondary focus
Brand is already solid enough to carry anything he puts out numbers wise so dropping bangers on bangers really isn’t even necessary anymore
Not saying he shouldn’t do that
drake was very serious the first half of his career i feel he tried to sound very mature in interviews and prided himself on taking a lot of time with his music
scorpion era was pretty serious no?
Yes, probably his most serious album tbh
Imo Drake would leave rap before he sounds dated or “old.” A lot of the music/lyrics we love from him is about being outside, dating freely, traveling the world, constantly chasing rap dominance…
If he were to get “serious” and settle all the way down, idk if his music would hit the same and I feel like he knows that, hence him contemplating a “graceful exit” just my opinion
