i'm very surprised Views is not diamond yet. literally one of the most hyped up albums of the 2010s, even if you weren't a Drake fan

Same but Drake has the most potential to go diamond. Just needs a 2 year + break . One hit single and a new sound or concept album imo

Scorpion TC Views are all gonna be diamond soon lol and its way harder now than 20 years ago

  • Damn. Eventually

when would you say the streaming era began? i started using Spotify in 2011 back when I was a jit and idk how long it took for others to catch up so it's a little blurry for me lol

Newest albums to officially go diamond were 21 and 25 by Adele and Fearless by Taylor Swift. 21 went diamond in one year and 11 months, 25 went diamond in 9 months, and Fearless finally got certified in 2017 - eight years after release

1989 was eligible for diamond in 3 and a half years but hasn’t been certified yet

Besides those albums by just two artists, the we haven’t had diamond albums like that in a while. So it’s not something that occurs often in the last 10+ years like it did in the 2000s

Some of yall still judge whole albums off singles?

Bro scorpion had 4 #1s, 2 more top 5 songs and Mob Ties also at #11. 7 huge singles. That’s a lot of music.

Of course it sold massively. CLB could have done it but it lacked hits and couldnt make up in quality.

This is a sales discussion at its core

A massive country or pop artist can do it.

That's a pretty sick achievement. Kind of surprised something like NWTS didn't hit that

For what it's worth Every song on Views is probably eligible, just not certified.

20/21 songs on CLB are gold eligible but again not certified

both are mid but Harlow’s appeal is more universal

LNX has the highest selling single of all time and he's an LGBTQ icon and has tons of streams and sales worldwide.

Ya'll swear Black artists can't have mass appeal on here without looking at the facts.

Edit: And he gave Jack his biggest global hit lol.

Streaming era wasn't until 2017 imo.

late 2014-16 was a transition period

Harlow’s appeal is more universal precisely because LNX doesn’t get play outside of being a LGBTQ icon

Also Old Town Road was the biggest anomaly of all time chile

2016 was pretty much the first year where some albums got a lot of streams (TLOP and Views for example)
