Been thinking about this. How YE is all about TMZ and the fallout connected with his mental illness diagnosis. When looking on at this moment of time, of overcorrecting and 'cancelling', YE stands out as one of the only albums to deal directly with complaints and tirades coming from all sides.

Good take, never thought about it like that.

Besides “all mine”, ye might be Kanye’s most thematically focused album

    not really

I never hear people who aren't Kanye stans play this album out loud

To say it's the "defining album of cancel culture" is a massive reach

ye is better recieved at the public than by the stans. there was even a trend on tiktok with rating the songs from ye and i still hear "all mine" and "yikes" sometimes when i'm outside

I'm not sure there is one. I don't think people in the future are going to associate the cancel culture era with a particular album.

also the streams on spotify are very good for only 7 songs

you can say that to JIK but not to ye tbh

I can only think of one other project that really defines cancel culture like ye and it might age badly come November

IMO cancel culture isn't a real thing. People said Kanye was cancelled but he's richer now than he's ever been. Trump has also been accused of a whole lot of s*** and he's still running, same with Biden.

Cancel culture is just Twitter's way of expressing displeasure with people that they don't agree with. Celebrities are infallible to this s***, other than confirmed pedos like Weinstein and R Kelly.

If anything I think ppl are gonna associate the cancel culture era with all the stand-up comedy specials like Chappelle and Burr who've openly talked about it

The most liberal blue hair dye nose ring she/her in the bio chick that I follow posted No Mistakes out of all songs on her story today lmao

Kanye still one of the biggest artists of all time even if he’s not selling like he used to
