the funny thing is my high school in the bronx had metal detectors and airport bag scanners that we had to go through every single morning, 2 armed officers on every floor, just because it was in the "hood".

and that is with it being nearly impossible to legally have a gun in NYC.

why don't they put these precautions in place where they're obviously needed? where over 50% of households have firearms and where school shootings happen by the dozens yearly. they don't wanna take away their guns? whatever. at least beef up security so that it's not up to unarmed teachers holding a door back with their bare hands.
