got a friend whos into witchcraft and she happens to be one of the most level headed/sensible people I know
Is this s*** dangerous?
Good question. I would say no. Avoid anything that involves bodily harm or that could cause you to get into a situation you don't have full control over. Not all witchcraft is magic and not all magic is black magic. Black magic/left-hand path whatever people call it is when you are trying to do something that changes your observable reality and the course of nature. But, if you think about it we are doing that already. Black magic is not something spooky. To me it's being aware of what the universe is and bending the universe in your favor. We do so many things that defy nature and most of those things are good for us.
We have fire, electricity, computers, cars, the Internet. For these things to work we have to sacrifice something (in nature) in order to create something new that is good for us. So this is where the dangerous part comes in, just be careful and respectful of what you are sacrificing. But that's just my personal take. OP and others might have a completely different take. I'm more interested in the philosophical takes (Esotericism) and being more one with nature (Mysticism) than the practice (Occultism). Witchcraft is older than the major religions and they can be found in all human societies so I'm trying to see what they can teach me about what spirituality and mysticism really is about. Anyway.

How do you know all of this is true? Have you experienced something?
How do you know all of this is true? Have you experienced something?
Well it's a belief like any other religion or philosophy. What is true is relative to the question you are trying to answer. I have experienced a liberating feeling that I can explore the inner workings of my mind and soul the way I choose. And that has helped me improve the way I live my life.
But yeah I had this burst of energy for maybe 1-2 years now and I tried to make sense of it until I discovered what a Saturn return is. It's the moment when the planet circles back to the constellation it inhabited when you were born, I was like oh s*** that's it. I gained a new clarity, new confidence, and a new perspective and I'm loving it.
It’s mysticism has intrigued me. I don’t think I’d ever try it because I’d rather not open any doors that shouldn’t be opened. Tho it’s funny how so many think it’s some bs fairy tale.
Do you practice magick?
Can you (or anyone else) give me some insight as to why it’s not some bs, I don’t really know enough bout it but my sister does tarot cards and I can’t help but play it down as some “fairytale s***” cus like it’s cards that were made in a factory somewhere

Look into it throughout history, there’s lots of accounts of it. Energy is a real thing.
Tarot cards are kind of weird because I’m pretty sure they’re Not exactly concrete in their meaning when used. you’d have to ask someone else about that.
But things like tarot and oujia boards are real yes. Juju, magick, witchcraft they are all real, but they are not inherently evil, demonic or anything like that. Hope that helps a bit.

Def not just bs, look into symbolism/numerology and you'll see the words, numbers, and symbols we use can affect the world around us. Also alot of tarot cards are made not by factories, but handcrafted by witches who actually put energy into their creations. Witchcraft is the precursor to modern science and the power of words can be proven by science. Check this out for example:
Is this s*** dangerous?
It really depends on your intention and intuition. Basically be well intentioned and if you encounter anything on your journey that doesn't sit right with your spirit, you probably shouldn't do it.
As the Wiccan Code cites: Do what you will, so long as it harms none.

I messed with a ouija board and it ruined my life for a few months until I went and disposed of it. I caught it all on video with friends, we were outside using it, and the wind picked up like crazy, all 3 of us were hearing what sounded like someone walking out of the woods next to us and towards us, and the light my boy was holding flickered by itself like 6 times fast asf. we all started panicking and skrrted the f*** out of there
On the drive home my car started slowing down by itself, like when you run out of gas, and shut itself off, and somehow the battery completely died. I never heard of the battery dying while driving, it was weird as s*** and I was stranded in the middle of nowhere at 3am having a full blown panic attack
like I said I caught it all on video and I can upload it somewhere if anybody wants to see. The next 3 or 4 months after this was the darkest period of my life. I cant even begin to go into detail but I felt like my sanity was slowly slipping away. I couldnt sleep, ever, because of the nightmares. S*** would be thrown in my house with me being the only one there. Things would turn on by themselves like treadmills and microwaves and s***. And I just started to lose it. Im a lot better now but im never f***ing w a ouija board again in my life lol

Yeah if you don’t know what you’re doing you can get into some serious s*** lol
And sure I’d be up to see it if you upload it
Glad you’re doing better
Just want make this clear: I created this discussion with the intention of connecting other practitioners/newcomers of magick in all forms to create a community, not to prove to non believers that this is real. There is plenty of space for your skeptic discussions in other threads.
Let's get an official KTT coven going!
Get ITT if your into witchcraft, brujeria, tarot, or any other forms of Magick :・゚✧:・゚✧
im sorta dipping my toes in, im curious abt your experience in it so far
how would you describe what you do/ practice?

That's good to hear, it's been a long journey for me. I'd describe my practice as yoga/meditation, astrology and Shintoism, with a little bit of tarot. I started with Buddhism which sparked an interest in spirituality. That led me to Shintoism, and a curiousity in eastern Shamanism. By the time I reached highschool, I went through a tumblr phase where I discovered Wicca. Witchcraft has a huge cultural importance to me personally, I found out that a few of the women in my familiy were practitioners as well.
