But I think it deserves a lot more love and attention. Feels like it's a casualty of having dropped in 2019 before the pandemic, like Kaytra's Bubba
It ain't a bad album but I didn't really peep it because Oxnard left a pretty meh taste. I'll probably get into it this week. I do remember liking Make It Better, Jet Black, and Good Heels.
I was initially disappointed by Oxnard, wasn’t a trash album in anyway. My gripe was the soundscape that Dre tried to force on Paak just didn’t mesh well with Paak’s style.
Ventura was the album that Paak should’ve released and canned Oxnard instead.

id circle back to oxnard too tbh
even i hated it on release but listened back to it for the first time a few months ago and surprisingly warmed up to it
Ventura and Oxnard my two favorite Paak albums if I’m keeping it a buck
Over Malibu & NxWorries?
Oxnard wasn’t bad, but something was off about it. I think it had to do with Dr. Dre being too involved.
Ventura is nice, I don't really need Twilight, Jet Black, Chosen One
I never play King James but it's OK, same for make it better too
Come Home is a nice opener, Reachin 2 Much is nice
What Can We Do (2nd) & Good Heels (1st) are my most played
It wasn't a step up overall & it wasn't as good as Malibu or Yes Lawd but it was a return to form.
Oxnard....
Anywhere & Cheers are some of my favourite Paak songs but the rest of Oxnard doesn't do much for me. I don't blame Dre.
Look at that feature lineup
Andre 3000
Smokey Robinson
Brandy
Nate Dogg
Jazmine Sullivan
