It's not Kush & Orange Juice if Johnny Juliano didn't have production on it. Period.

Johnny Juliano was more present on the earlier projects than on Kush & OJ, he only has 1 beat on it

I think the Cardo and Sledgren sound is more of the Kush & OJ vibe, which they both are on 2

So I recently caught up on Wiz's discog (I fell off just before Rolling Papers 2) and listened to everything from then up to now.

I feel like this is on the trajectory of the return to form he was having towards this later stretch but honestly it just feels like the production carries him so hard.

I think my biggest gripe with the newer stuff is that he's completely eschewed melodies and catchy hooks in favor of simpler hooks (forgettable but not bad per se).

The features ranged a little in quality but was surprised in the quality from some of the faces that showed up (I will say having Gunna over that Young Deji dude he was tryna push is a massive upgrade hahaha). Cannot believe we got an OT Genesis feat in 2025 hahaha.

Overall I'd say its a solid 6.5-7, nothing offensive, some nice groovy tracks, definitely dragged for me towards the end (that dub mix wtf was he thinking). Still wanting more out of Wiz tho I know he can do better

You're right but Johnny deserved a look on this, for the reason you mentioned and also because he's been producing with Cardo for the last however many years. He's all over I Am Music with Cardo for example. & I personally think Pedal to the Metal is the best song on Kush and OJ 1 although I know i'm in the minority with that take.
